    Dear Blizzard Recruitment Team,

I’m excited to apply for the 2026, 3D Art Summer Internship position on the Hearthstone team at Blizzard Entertainment.

I’m a Level 5 student studying 3D Games Art at LMA Liverpool University, and I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to hone my skills through building upon the whimsical world of Hearthstone.

My background covers illustration, 3D art and my hobbies are in film making, particularly cinematography and lighting.

I have over six years of experience in art and over one year focused on stylized 3D modeling.

During my studies at LMA, I’ve built a solid foundation in 3D modeling and texturing and sculpting using Maya, Substance Painter and zbrush.

In My Project ‘The Dark Forest Environment’ Diorama, I explored lighting, colour theory, and the overall composition necessary to achieve a whimsical, fantasy atmosphere.

During my first year, Blizzard’s style, especially World of Warcraft, was my main reference for understanding stylized techniques and has massively impacted the texturing and design choices in my current 3D work.

Outside of 3D, I’ve had the chance to take part in film and television productions such as house of dragon. This led to me starting my own work as a filmmaker and cinematographer with my brother. I’ve directed and shot projects ranging from music videos for a local artist, promotional content for local restaurants, weddings, and ticketed performances at Stoller Hall, Manchester. I see these experiences outside of digital art as vital training which has improved my eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling, which have been integral to improving those aspects in my digital work.

Blizzard’s work has been a huge inspiration for my career choices, I would be delighted to invest this summer into learning from the professionals.

Thank you to the Hearthstone art team for considering my application.

    Warm regards,

    Bradley Shaw
